China's production and use of high efficiency mine explosion-proof axial flow 
fan is mainly FBC (D) Z and 2K type, the maximum static pressure efficiency is 
about 85% [6]. However, the mine ventilation conditions are varied and complex, 
the existing products are sometimes difficult to meet the economic requirements 
of the specific mine fan, which is often encountered in the selection of the 
mine fan. Therefore, in the existing products or through the adjustment can not 
meet the economic requirements, should be based on the specific situation of the 
mine, the use of personalized design, designed to meet the requirements of mine 
ventilation and economic ventilation. According to statistics, the fan in the 
whole service life, more electricity consumption accounted for about 80% of 
total cost of ventilator, despite the use of personalized design cost is higher, 
but due to fan personalized design efficiency in the entire service life of high 
and low power consumption, in most cases can reduce the cost of 
ventilation.
2 adjustment method and application of mine axial 
fan
At present, China's production of explosion-proof axial fan 
adjustment methods are: throttle gate and the method of changing the blade angle 
adjusting method, variable speed control method [7], get rid of one stage 
impeller and remove part of blade. The most commonly used is the first 
three.
3.2.1 gate throttling method and its 
application
Gate throttle method through appropriate air duct 
dampers lead off, increasing the ventilation network resistance, the 
characteristic curve of the ventilation network to move up, fan operating point 
moves to the left, in order to achieve the purpose of reducing air volume. In 
the initial stage, the air volume of the fan is larger, so the method is used to 
reduce the air volume. This method is simple and convenient, but there is an 
additional loss in the damper, is not an economic adjustment method 
[8].
The axial flow fan, the same blade installation angle, the 
use of this method can not only achieve the purpose of energy conservation, but 
also cause energy waste. In the introduction of this method, some literatures 
and textbooks do not take into account the energy saving problem of axial fan. 
Figure 1 is the performance curve of FBCDZN022B/160 * 2 axial flow fan, fan 
blade installation angle of 49 degrees /41 degrees. In Figure 1, the static 
resistance characteristic curve of the front ventilation network is adjusted by 
225kW, and the M1 is the former working condition, the air volume is 85m3/s, and 
the power of the static pressure shaft (the power corresponding to A in the 
drawing) is. In Figure 2, the static resistance characteristic curve of the 
adjusted ventilation network is 240kW, and the M2 is adjusted after the working 
condition, the air volume is 75m3/s, the static shaft power (the power 
corresponding to the B point in the graph) is. After adjustment, the air volume 
is reduced by 10m3/s, and the power of the static pressure shaft is increased by 
15kW, resulting in energy waste. This is determined by the performance of axial 
flow fan, air volume increases, the pressure drop faster; air volume decreases, 
the wind pressure rises faster, but the shaft power increases.
